Future Items & Scary Items! :)

Future Items :)

Hi guys! this morning i had my creative thinking make up class :) everyday we have different things and stuffs to do! today we were asked to bring our futuristic items that might be seriously invented in the next 20 years from now! this project is also a group project so we need to do some discussions to come up with the right idea!

our futuristic items can be made out of recycleable materials like bottles and cups and some other stuffs. so, the story is... 20 years from now earth is going to be overpopulated so the carrying capacity is over limit. thus, the government decide to make a space ship to transport humans to occupy and live in Mars. it requires a lot of fuels and energy supply to transport to Mars that is why the carrying capacity of the space ship will be made up to 30,000 people per flight. the main materials we use to make the space ship were some different sizes used bottles, some bottle lids, plastic cups, used cardboard, satay sticks, and some kind of useless stickers :p which is used for decoration purpose only HAHA...

The first impression you might feel when seeing this space ship is that it looks like a rhino :p why?? because the ship is named space rhino hahaha... there are so many horns shaped cardboard on top of the space ship. it is a multi purpose ship it can be a space ship but it can also be a battle ship because it is modified with some sun beams and solar power :)

Scary Items :)

The second part of the lesson, we were arranged in another group and we were asked to bring cellophane papers, mahjong paper, rubbish bin plastic, egg trays, scissors, tapes, and ropes. the story of the task is the following... one of you experienced a ship wreck and you were left on an island where it is full of scary human eating monsters. if they find out that you are a human before sun sets then they will eat you! so to get out of this mess you must be able to model yourself so that you can blend in with the other monsters.

there were 5 people in our group but there needs to be one person as a model. so the other 4 people can act as his or her fairy godmother to help her get out of that mystical island. Pallavi was chosen as our model and we can only use the materials that we brought, she has 3 fingers, no eye in the face, covered in black mud, and a really long hair. so her trademark is the really long hair because we decided to be inspired by rapunzel. and then she will have a really big leg made out of egg trays! and ta da!... she can get out of the island safely because she did camouflage herself well with the help of the fairy godmothers! :) Adios!... :*

Brain Game :)

Last monday, on 25th August 2014 our creative thinking class became very interesting :). our teacher arranged us in groups and we were given some kind of brain game. the only things our teacher gave us was only 15 spaghetti sticks and a really small amount of glue tag. the instruction was to make a tower out of only the 2 given materials. we need to make it as tall as possible but we also need to make it stable and steady.

The reason for these requirements is because at last we need to stick a marshmallow on top of the tower and someone from our group needs to be the representative to grab and eat the marshmallow while standing on the table. if the spaghetti tower is not stable, it might fall easily. if it falls when someone grab it then they will be disqualified from the brain game :0.

We need to make tiny glue tag pieces since we were only given a really small piece to stick all the spaghetti sticks together. So, the tricky part about this game is that it is very hard to stick the spaghetti sticks together because the glue tag is not strong at all and it doesn't seem to work on materials other than paper >: and since we need to make it very stable and steady, we need to have a well planned design, body, and structure otherwise it might not be as strong as we expected it to be and we might get disqualified :(

And finally! we are done with our spaghetti tower and its now time to test whether the tower is as stable as how it seems or not! HAHA it has quite a nice structure but somehow it does not look that durable and stable :s

Adrian was the representative of our group! and yay!! the marshmallow was easily grabbed without even harming the spaghetti tower. and here we thought that it might break any moment because it looks shaky and fragile HAHAS :s

Brain game sure is fun! you should try it some other times :) Adios!

50 Dishes Challenge :)

The Only 2 Given Materials :( Lychee

And Cornflakes

The 50 Dishes List We come up with! using only Lychee & Cornflakes :3
During our creative class on 18th August 2014, we were given a 50 dishes challenge. So our class were divided into 5 groups, each group was given a combination of 2 things. One of them is definitely a fruit and the other one is a random edible product. Our group were given a combination of Lychee and Cornflakes. Therefore, it took us some time to think of 50 different dishes out of only these two not so compatible materials. It was fun yet challenging because we really need to use our brain to think about it, hence we come up with totally creative and fun ideas (although we were not so sure whether we can really make the dishes we come up with :p)

In the second round, we were given another task which is to pick 3 dishes out of the 50 dish list that are suitable to be appetizer, main course, and dessert (full set menu). The medias we used to illustrate these 3 dishes are charcoal and color markers.
Draw by using charcoal :)
For the appetizer we decided to illustrate the lychee stuffed with cornflakes which is a cold dish. It tastes sweet and sour because of the lychee yet crunchy because of the cornflakes.
After we colored it with marker
Before we colored the cornflakes stuffing

For the main course we decided to illustrate the minced lychee with cornflakes stuffed in bamboo. The main idea of this dish is to create an exotic atmosphere.

For the dessert we decided to illustrate the lychee and cornflakes parfait. It looks fresh and fascinating. It is five stacks combination of blended lychee and cornflakes with some lychee flesh and cornflakes crumbs toppings.

How to Send Your Messages "Creatively"? :)

5 CREATIVE WAYS TO SEND MESSAGES
*Created by: Sathish, Aileen, Gracia (me), Natalia, Suttikit*

4th August 2014, During our creative thinking class, we were asked to think of best 5 ways to do something. Since the topic was randomly chosen, the topic we received was about sending message. Hence, here are the top 5 ways to send message based on our group's thoughts & considerations :)

(Morse Codes, Body Language, Pigeon Mail, Graffiti, Message in a bottle)

Afterwards, we need to illustrate these 5 creative ways in a piece of A2 paper. And I chose to be the one to illustrate "Graffiti". As you can see from the picture attached above, the illustration of graffiti was placed in the top left of the paper.

GRAFFITI
Graffiti can be categorized as a media to send message, but the unique thing about making graffiti is that you need to be creative and full of ideas. In the picture above, the quote states "one idea can change the world". For me graffiti is like sending a message directly and literally but in an attractive ways, so that the intended audience of the message will be interested to understand the meanings behind the message given.

Example and Facts to creatively send a message based on my graffiti:
Rather than using only small letters or block letters, I find it more attractive to combine the two types of letters ;)
Informal fonts are more attractive compared to formal scripts :b
As can be seen in the word "world", I did not entirely use letters to write the word. Sometimes, a simple letter like "o" can easily be replaced by round and circle things. To suit the word "world", It would be best to replace the "o" with a drawing of the earth to make it more attractive :3
Using different range of complementary colors is also one of the aspects to create an awesome graffiti. For instance by combining warm and cool tone colors like blue or purple with yellow just like what's shown in the picture attached above :D

Enjoy! & Think of more creative ways, okay? :)
