Last week on 3rd of October, we all fellow NAFA students have our 'thanks God it's funday' event :) it was held in Sentosa Siloso Beach! it was a very fun activities that NAFA Office Student Care created. and the best thing is it's free! :D we don't need to pay anything but we get a lot of things in this event. for example free pass to Sentosa although it was extremely crowded, free food and drinks, free cotton candy :9, and the best part is free entertainment during the NAFA talent show. there are so many talented people who perform in the show, most of them perform as dancers and singers. it was really fun watching over them from the audience seats.
The weather was extremely hot luckily i have used a lot of sunblock up to SPF 125 :) and luckily it did not rain at all, if it were to rain during Funday then the event would be completely ruined. many of my friends joined the tuck of war competition but i watched from the sideline only with many other friends because we did not get the chance to register :( we played in the beach, the water is very clear and cold, i feel so refreshed because finally after having very tiring weeks with loads of schoolworks i can finally enjoy and pampered myself by going to sunday :) Thank you OSC and NAFA :D
my friends and i took a whole lot of pictures in the beach! we had countless poses and selfies :9. we all look very happy and excited! although it took a long way to get to the beach from my apartment but it was definitely worth it!. I hope OSC can held this kind of events often so that we can have so much fun. :) after funday, my friends and i decided to watch a movie in vivo city because it is very near. :)
so here are some favorite pictures that i took during funday with my friends :)

Last Creative Thinking Class :(
SO on 9th october 2014...... the day has finally come.... today is our last creative thinking class which is kind of sad :( for our last class Ms. Kim has assigned us to design a watch for our fellow classmate. at first i do not really know who i want to dedicate my watch to, so i just randomly create a watch design that popped out in my mind directly after Ms. Kim explained about the assignment.
The theme of the watch that i designed is "white lily", judging by the theme it is obvious that the main color is white and i am aiming to create an elegant watch design just like a lily. the materials used to make this watch would be sparkly leather strap with diamond gems and in the middle of the watch there would be a blooming lily petals decorated with diamonds. after i finished my watch design i realized that this design would be very suitable for my classmate called Jing Jie. based on my point of view i feel that Jing Jie is a very ladylike girl with a bright personality and these characteristics can be shown in my watch design. thus i decided that i would like to dedicate this watch design to Jing Jie :)
After i finished my watch design, Ms. Kim asked us to go around the classrooms and take pictures of our fellow classmates watch design for our blogpost. there are so many creative and beautiful watch design everywhere :) their designs are very attractive and interesting. some design looks very mature, some looks very colorful and fun, some looks very meaningful and elegant. there are so many varieties of watch designs that i can find :) the design that attract my interest most is Zhe Min's because her design is very simple yet classy especially the blooming rose in the middle of the watch is drawn very detailed.
And so that's the end of our creative thinking module, time passed by so fast until i didn't realize that 11 weeks have passed. soon we are going to enter the arts in practice after our assessment week. i feel extremely nervous for assessment week but i hope i could achieve a remarkable mark so that i can make my parents proud :) in the end of our last class Ms. Kim said good bye and thank you to all of us because we have been a very pleasant class, however in the end she realized that she is still going to teach our arts in practice class :D So see you soon Ms. Kim in arts in practice class :) See you....! :D

Final DF - 3 Portraits of Ourselves with 3 Different Medias :)
For our drawing fundamental final project, we were asked to picked three of our pictures based on front view, side view, and informal view. Next we need to recreate and draw these three pictures into 1 A4 each. the purpose of this assignment is to get the skills and techniques to create a portrait. the reason why our teacher asked us to use our own picture is because there's no way we would make a bad drawing of ourselves right, obviously we want to be depicted as good as possible :P
For these three portraits we also need to use three different medias, i am going to use markers for my front view, pencils for side view, and watercolors for informal view. my most favorite media out of these three is drawing markers because it is very easy to master and the colors are very vibrant. the hardest one would be using pencils because i am a left handed so when i draw using pencils it is very easy to get smudged and the shadings needs to be very smooth and intense. to get this intensity you need to be very patient to apply layers one by one. watercolors are sometimes easy to apply but sometimes it can be very hard especially if you are using a thin paper. it is very easy to get torn if the paper is not thick enough.
however because my major is fashion studies, i also need to master how to draw faces and human features thus i feel that this assignment is very helpful for me to further my studies. our teacher also gave us a very easy and nice tips to draw these portraits based on a picture.
some techniques and skills that i learnt from 2D class can also be applied into making these portraits for example before i color my portrait with markers i need to outline it first and shade it using drawing pen. therefore pointillism or dots techniques that i learnt in 2D can be used to create the shadings and shadows.
in this portrait making, we can be as creative as possible in terms of colors. hence i can arrange the colors to make contrast and intensity. i can turn my hair brown just like what i did for my markers and watercolors portraits. i have always wanted to dye my hair brown but it would ruin my hair so at least in this portrait making i can be as open minded and creativity is a must :D Adios...!
and here are some pictures of my human figure drawings :)
ps: i like human figure drawings most! :D

Final 2D - Fantasy Gestalt :)
For the past 8 weeks, we have done a lot of tasks during 2d fundamentals and we have attained countless experience and skills. we have learnt things like typography, collages, lines and dots, color tones, and many other stuffs. so for our final 2D task we need to make something with fantasy as the theme.
our teacher offers two choices of artwork, one of them is making a fantasy gestalt. Gestalt is present when an artwork can show two different types of point of views within one artwork. because gestalt is quite hard to create, we have one other choice given. we need to make an artwork using the skills we have learnt for the past 8 weeks. we can produce a 1 A2 artwork, 2 A3 artworks, and at most 4 A4 artworks.
after having long discussions and planning with the teacher, i have decided to do a 1 A2 artwork with a combination of gestalt and the things we have learnt so far. in total we are given 3 weeks to do this assignment which is from week 9 to week 11. in week 12 we need to submit all of projects that we have done so far and it will be assessed by our teacher and another one 2D teacher.
the purpose of my artwork is to promote a movie called "underwater". it is a fictional movie based on my own story :) judging by the title of the movie, it can be seen that this poster will be related to some fantasy sea creatures. and yeah.... it is true. the emphasis of the artwork is in the two mermaids in the middle of the poster and i am going to use watercolors as my media. By arranging the artwork i can create a gestalt of both mermaids shapes and a face of a person. :)
i feel that this task is one of the most challenging task i have done so far in 2D class because it needs to be complex and yet simple. it needs to show emphasis and balance. gestalt is a very unique artwork that somehow appeals to me. and i would like to show my gratefulness to the teacher in charge by applying the things he has taught us up until now ;D i hope i will have the chance to do more exciting assignments just like this one, but it would definitely take so much time ;( but i enjoy it so much! :D adios...!
