Final DF - 3 Portraits of Ourselves with 3 Different Medias :)

For our drawing fundamental final project, we were asked to picked three of our pictures based on front view, side view, and informal view. Next we need to recreate and draw these three pictures into 1 A4 each. the purpose of this assignment is to get the skills and techniques to create a portrait. the reason why our teacher asked us to use our own picture is because there's no way we would make a bad drawing of ourselves right, obviously we want to be depicted as good as possible :P

For these three portraits we also need to use three different medias, i am going to use markers for my front view, pencils for side view, and watercolors for informal view. my most favorite media out of these three is drawing markers because it is very easy to master and the colors are very vibrant. the hardest one would be using pencils because i am a left handed so when i draw using pencils it is very easy to get smudged and the shadings needs to be very smooth and intense. to get this intensity you need to be very patient to apply layers one by one. watercolors are sometimes easy to apply but sometimes it can be very hard especially if you are using a thin paper. it is very easy to get torn if the paper is not thick enough.

however because my major is fashion studies, i also need to master how to draw faces and human features thus i feel that this assignment is very helpful for me to further my studies. our teacher also gave us a very easy and nice tips to draw these portraits based on a picture.

some techniques and skills that i learnt from 2D class can also be applied into making these portraits for example before i color my portrait with markers i need to outline it first and shade it using drawing pen. therefore pointillism or dots techniques that i learnt in 2D can be used to create the shadings and shadows.

in this portrait making, we can be as creative as possible in terms of colors. hence i can arrange the colors to make contrast and intensity. i can turn my hair brown just like what i did for my markers and watercolors portraits. i have always wanted to dye my hair brown but it would ruin my hair so at least in this portrait making i can be as open minded and creativity is a must :D Adios...!

and here are some pictures of my human figure drawings :)
ps: i like human figure drawings most! :D
